Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I was recently diagnosed with left bundle branch block. I am 49 years old and prior to this diagnosis have had high blood pressure for 12 years. I take atenolol, hydroclorathiazide, and a low dose aspirin. I have undergone a nuclear stress test, echo cardio gram , complete blood work and have worn a heart haltor for 24 hours. All results are good. No evidence of blockages or heart disease of any kind. My question is, some literature I read states beta blockers may be a cause of BBB. And some literature states beta blockers being given for BBB. I am confused by this. Can you please clarify.

How Are Beta Blockers And BBB Related?
Hello, I would like to tell you that Bundle Branch blocks are sometimes related to cardiac ischemia and sometimes present from birth and are harmless. If your cardiac evaluation came back normal then no need to worry. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Regards, Dr. Bhanu Partap, Cardiologist
