Hello! My husband has a large lump on his back that we were told was a lipoma. Recently it began to swell and become larger and had a red area. Now there s a whole side to it that is very red and pus is coming out. Should we squeeze out the pus more (very painful for him)? Is there anything we can put on it that will help it drain? We have an appointment next Thursday with the Doctor but want to know what we can do now. Thanks in advance for your help!
lump on back are commonly soft tissue dwellings like sebaceous cyst, lipoma, fibroma, abscess,Carbuncle etc.you should first get consultation with a general surgeon.then you required FNAC (fine needle aspiration cytology-which is a procedure to know the exact cytological nature of swelling).FnAC will tell the exact diagnosis then plan for excisional biopsy( which includes removal of swelling and its histopathological diagnosis)
