How Can heartburn And Vomiting Along With Cough Be Treated?

I have been getting heartburn for a while now but last week it was really bad, was sleeping and then acid came up, I was coughing and throwing up. I am still getting it now. I am only taking Gaviscon. All I want to know is do I need to see doc straight away or Can wait a few weeks?

You should consider trying an alternative treatment plan first to see how it works but if the symptoms are really severe, then you should see your doctor.

Treatment would include: (1) use small frequent meals instead of large meals, this would reduce acid production
(2)avoid spicy/acidic/fried or fatty foods
(3)reduce caffeine, mint,tomato,onions, chocolate
(4)weight loss of any excess weight because this presses on the stomach
(5)wait at least 2 hours after eating before laying down

Medications such as nexium, prilosec, prevacid, protonix, pepcid, zantac, should be tried.
One of these can be used.
