How Can severe Back Spasms Be Treated?

Hello, I have 15 years of A-Fib and have had 2 oblations, now I am diagnosed with heart failure 6 months ago. My question is I am also been having severe back spasms which come and go, they are very severe when I receive them; it is very sore and debilitating, is this something associated with my above mentioned conditions?

Hi
Thanks for posting on HCM
I have read and understood your concern.
Back spasm may not be related to your past history of A-Fib or heart failure. There are many possible causes. Some of these causes may include:
-Fitness deficiency causes like Dehydration, Low blood mineral levels (such as potassium and calcium), Weak or tight back muscles...
-Pathologic causes like: Arthritis in your spine, abnormal curvature of the spine, Herniated disc, Spinal stenosis, defects in the vertebral column or backbone....
There are just so many possible causes.I will suggest you try the following:
*Rest well
*Remain well hydrated while having your BP under check
*Take a pain drug like tylenol and a myorelaxant like miorel
*Eat well and healthy
*Vitamin B complex
If symptoms persist, you may see the Doctor for investigation.Tests that may help identify cause may include: serum electrolytes, x ray...
Hope my answer will help you.
Wish you good health. You may write back if you have more concerns
