How Can severe Cough Be Treated?

I have a cough right now. .Have had it since last Thursday. Can t seem to get the congestion broken up. I have tried everything. Went to an urgent care last Thursday, they gave me an antibiotic because of my wheezing. I am so tired of coughing. I have done the mustard pack & the whole nine yards to try & get the cough broken up.

Hi,

Cough may be due to many causes like acute bronchitis or pneumonia or brochectasis or asthma, etc. Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is. Get Chest X-ray, ECG, AEC, urine examination, and sputam examination done.

Avoid cool drinks and freeze water avoid smoking. Use water vapour inhalation and salt water gargling thrice a day for five days. If symptoms not improved please consult your physician he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
