How Can severe Cough In A Child Be Treated?

My son is eleven years old he is suffering from severe cough since 5days,an allergy specialist has suggested esiflo 125 inhaler, montex lc, claricin 250,pulmoclear syrup and defcort syrup. He is taking the medicines since three days there is a difference, but not much. Please suggest

Hello,

Medication can't cure colds or flu, but hard candies or cough drops can help relieve a sore throat caused by coughing. Because of choking hazards, only give hard candies or cough drops to children over age 4.
