How Can severe Headache Along With Dizziness Be Treated?

I recently lost my father a month ago;it happened so fast so I could understand the reason for me to feel certain attributes due to grieving and being on the patch but it s to the point where it s physically damaging. When I mean by that is some days are better than others. All I do is sleep or want to sleep. I have massive headaches and my emotions change significantly throughout the day. Today what concerned me was I woke up with severe dizziness so I m attempt to make it go away I ate something but it didn t leave. Tears fled from my eyes unknowingly and it felt like I had an overwhelming sad sensation come over me and my throat clenched as if I was swallowing a big pill trying to hold these odd feeling back. Soon my significant other had put a cold towel on my head as I began to burn up and after a few minutes the feeling and the dizziness dimmed down. What s wrong with me?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I think you are suffering from severe depression which is because of the recent loss of a loved one.

Increased sleepiness, feeling tearful and sudden arousal from sleep at odd hours are all symptoms of depression and need to be addressed.

I would advise you to get yourself assessed by a psychiatrist who may put you on antidepressants and tranquilizers for a few months to help you deal with your symptoms.

He may also advise you counseling sessions which will help you to deal with your loss.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Nazma.amman, General & Family Physician
