How Can severe Stage 3 Cirrhosis Be Treated?

I am a hep c cured patient w harvoni 2 yrs ago and in stage 3 cirrhosis. i have taken very good of myself and no problems. but i found out i am very low on iron and dr prescribed 50,000 units for 4 wks and aftr that more In the1st pill of second round my liver hurt so bad and has continued. drs don t know iron is harmful to liver. what am to do. i am trying milk thistle a little and turmeric .

This is serious disease and quitting alcohol is the most important thing that should be done. Also, medications which are hematotoxic should be avoided. This is necessary to prevent disease progression which is lethal in most cases. At early stages it can be treated with these measures but but in case of progression, only liver transplantation may help. Diet should be balanced and healthy and get regular exercise. Limit high-carb foods such as bread, grits, rice, potatoes, and corn. And cut down on drinks with lots of sugar like sports drinks and juice. If there is viral hepatitis as udnelying cause then antiviral medications are required.
