How Can shooting Pain In Leg Be Treated?

Since I was a child I have had shooting pains in my legs . They seem to be getting worse the only thing that seems to ease the pain is if my dog lies across my legs . Was told it was growing pains but I m in my forties now . Now I ve started to get pains in my buttocks as well and it s going numb

As a first line management you can try analgesics like gabapentin for symptomatic relief.

If pain persists better to consult a neurologist and get evaluated.
