How Can sneezing And Wheezing Along With Runny Nose Be Treated?
I had a cold or sinus infection. Runny nose, sneezing, wheezing. All mucous was clear. Took an over the counter and most is gone, but there is still a lingering drainage (clog) in the back of my throat, nose. Is there something OTC that will knock this out?
Hello, Thanks for trusting Healthcaremagic! I have gone through your query and I can understand your concerns.
The symptoms you have mentioned suggestive of common cold and a probable sinus infection. You can try the following to get relieved. 1.Acetaminophen(paracetamol) or ibuprofen can be taken for fever and pain. 2.You can try any over the counter expectorant cough syrup to clear the mucus and secretions. 3.Antihistamines like levocetrezine can be tried for symptomatic relief. 4.Nasal decongestants like xylometazoline can be tried for blocked nostrils. 5.Do warm saline gargles and steam inhalation frequently. If symptoms persist despite all these, please consult a general practitioner. You might require a short course of antibiotic therapy which is not available OTC.
Hope I have answered your query. Regards. Dr. Shinas Hussain
