How Can sore Throat Along With Headache Be Treated?

Five days ago, got a sudden bad sore throat, then severe congestion (green discharge from lungs and nose), headache, cough. Lowgrade fever first two days. Dr. called in Z-pack and I have taken first two days. No improvement. Today neck glands are swollen on both sides. Is it too early to expect improvement from antibiotics of is this likely viral? Husband travelled to India and a week after his return he developed same symptoms (no sore throat), I got sick after him but he s been sick for nearly two weeks.

Hi,

It is due to bacterial infection most likely.

You need to take antibiotics along with Paracetamol and syrup of Bromhexine. You will relieve in one to two weeks completely.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. SOHEEL HUSSAIN ZARGAR,
