How Can I Be Sure I Do Not Have Subconjunctival Hemorrhage?
Hi, I was recently punched in the eye two nights ago. I have bruising around the eye, but that's not what I'm worried about. About a quarter of my eyeball is red where it should be white. Looks as though it is filled with blood. I did some research and I think it may be a subconjunctival hemorrhage which doesn't seem too serious, but how can i be sure?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Praveen's Response
Hi.Thanks for writing on HCM. If your eye ball is red (white portion) following an injury the most possible reason is subconjunctival hemorrhage.Further this not harmful and doesnot require any treatment and resolves with time.It is painless. If you are not satisfied I would suggest you to consult and Ophthalmologist.Hope this answers your query.
