General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi, Thanks for the query. I understand your concern. - In my view first step to control bowel incontinence should be to control diarrhea. stool examination gives clue about infecting organism. a specific treatment with an expert gastroenterologist would easily control. at the same time prevention of dehydration maintenance of electrolyte balance by intake of sufficient water & Oral re-hydration therapy - Pelvic floor exercises to regain tone of anal sphincter would help .( under guidance of physiotherapist ) - If this does not work at all-consultation of an anorectal surgeon is advisable Thanks.
