How Can LDL Level Be Regulated?

I am 59, height 6 0, weight 184. I exercise aerobically for 30 plus minutes 5 days a week. I have exercised regularly my whole life and ran 9 marathons in my years before 35. My LDL level was 134 in a recent physical. Is this a cause for concern and what can I do to lower this? No history of heart disease in my family.

Thank you for your question on HCM. Yes you are right. High LDL type of cholesterole and it is atherogenic and causes atherosclerosis in vessels and so can cause many complication like MI, brain stroke etc. Normsl value is less than 100. In my opinion you should follow strict diet plan (cholesterole free) and start lipid lowering agents like atorvastatin or rosuvastatin and get done repeat test after 1 week. You should consult cardiologist for this. Continue your exercise schedule.
