How Can Lyme Disease Be Treated?

Hi doc, my doctor has diagnosed me with active EBV and Lyme disease. He currently has me amoxicillin, biaxin and mebendazole along with several supplements. I ve been on these for 4 days and I m experiencing upset stomach and slight burning in my Esophagus. Do you think I am being too overloaded with antibiotics? Also, what is your experience with Lyme and EBV? Thanks

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

The treatment that you are taking is correct. I suggest you to use antacids for the stomach pain because it is a side effect of the antibiotics. I also suggest to avoid:

-Spicy foods
-Caffeine
-Alcohol-smoking.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
I find this answer helpful
