How Can PCOS Be Treated?

I missed period by 10 days, my last period was started on 22 or 23 Nov, I am 31 yrs old unmarried. I have pcos problem since 5 years. But my periods were regular and prepone naturally after 4 to 5 months,My weight is 52kgs, no other medical problem, have facial hair growth on chin after pcos problem occured. Plz suggest remedy this is first time I missed my period. Also suggest pcos medication. No pregnancy.

Hi,

You to go for home pregnancy test to start with for confirming/excluding pregnancy (for unexpected ovulation is possible ). Hope the test would be + ve. But even if it is not. Don't be disheartened. Methodical investigations and treatment can overcome the hurdle in conception.

Examination by an expert gynecologist along with USG scans/hormonal assay/insulin resistance test are the investigations usually done. Treatment is by control of weight (exercises & medicines like glycophage)/ovulation stimulation to reduce the ovarian. Volume/drilling surgery to remove immature ovums from ovary and reduce ovarian volume. (Which automatically reverses the hormonal imbalance causing spontaneous ovulation).

Choice of treatment is done by treating gynecologist. so you should be under expert care to get rid of the problem.
