How Can UTI Be Treated?

Yes, I saw my nurse practitioner on Tuesday and she had results of my urine test which shows a UTI. as he gave me 6 pills which I only have 1 left, but am still very uncomfortable. The script issulfameth/trimethoprim 800/160 MG TB to take one twice a day. Is that sufficient for this problem. I will take the last pill tomorrow morning.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi and welcome to Healthcaremagic. Thank you for your query. I am Dr. Rommstein, I understand your concerns and I will try to help you as much as I can.

Yes, this is enough for most infections and this is effective antibiotics. As an alternative cipfofloxacin, or nitrofurantoin may be taken if this is not successful.

Second, it would be good to repeat urine analysis and urinoculture after this antibiotic treatment or after 5 days.

If there is negative urine analysis then you should do ultrasound of kidneys to check for stones. Beside antibiotics, you should drink plenty of fluids and take raspberry tea or juice to promote urination.

I hope I have answered you query. If you have any further questions you can contact us in every time.
Kindly regards. Wish you a good health.
