I just had a uti and was given sulfamethoxazole on a monday, I was given 7 days instead of three as I also had bronchitis. The bronchitis cleared up but the on the following Sunday my UTI had not gotten any better but worse pain and more blood in my urine. I went to the ER and they gave me Cipro. On Thursday I was trying to walk to the bathroom but it was dark and I walked into a door and got knocked down and a huge cut above my eye. No one else was home, so I could not drive to ER alone as I was dizzy. The bleeding stopped after 20 minutes but the next day after work I went to the Urgent care at VA. They would not treat me as I got there 45 minutes before closing and the doctor said he would Stitch it but didn t have time and asked a PA to do it, but he refused saying he wasn t comfortable stitching a face. So they told me to drive to ER at Travis AFB an hour away. At the urgent care they took no vitals and did not even exam me. I drove to ER at Travis AFB, upon arrival, my BP was 150/105 which I have never had elevated BP before. They chalked it up to stress and I waited 4 hours to be seen, by then docs said too late to stitch it and only cleaned it and put steri strips and glue. I was nauseous and threw up so they gave me zofran. I told them I had a headache since the injury occurred, blurry vision all day, and that I was nauseous all day. They performed no tests, but took blood pressure before release and now it was 163/115. They told me to follow up with primary care doctor. I have never had a UTI before and am 43. I have not been sexually active in over 2 years, only recent change in medical history was sudden heavy bleeding with periods and anemia 3 months ago. GYN put me on BC pills to control bleeding and said he felt masses on uterus that felt like fibroids. I had ultrasound Tuesday and tech said she saw no evidence of fibroids or masses on test, but have appointment with GYN Thursday.
