How Can A Bartholin S Cyst Be Prevented?

I had a bartholin cyst about a month ago. I had the word catheter put in and removed. No problems as of yet but I was wondering if I could get a bikini wax afterwards? Should I or shouldn t I... I feel like the hair is making me more prone to infections down there because any little thing could get stuck to the hair and infect the cyst area?
