How Can A UTI Be Treated?

I seem to have a urinary tract infection. It just started. Burning, frequent trips to the bathroom and a lot of blood, including some blood clots in the urine. Any ideas on what I can do since I won’t be able to see my urologist until tomorrow. I’m female, 64 and have only had one UTI Year’s ago.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

UTI (urinary tract infection) is quite common in elderly females. You don’t need to worry as it will respond well with antibiotics. Get a urine culture done and start antibiotics according to culture reports.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
