How Can A Bald Patch On The Scalp Be Treated?

I think I have congenital hypotrichosis because I was born with a large narrow oval, on the top of my head, followed by a smaller circle bald spot behind it. I am only twelve, and I was wondering if there are ANY medication to make to hair grow back, even if you have to be older to take them. I do not want a hair transplant.

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

As per your case history you are having aplasia cutis on scalp, leading to bald patch.
My treatment advice is -
1. It is a genetic condition and cannot be reversed.
2. Only curative treatment is hair transplantation done by a dermato-surgeon.

Thanks.
Dr. Harshit bhachech.
MBBS, DDVL.
