How Can A Blood Clot In The Hear Be Treated?

My boyfriend suffered a stroke and in ICU since Saturday. They did a cat scan and found he has blood clot in his heart. He is still in sedation since his vitals signs are 110/160 I believe he hears me since he squeeze my hand. How long will it be until he wakes up?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

The clots can be dissolved by drugs like heparin. Probably he is having some thrombus in heart which cause dislodgement and stroke. Continue ICU care he will be fine with proper treatment. It takes time for complete recovery.

Wishing you good health.

Thanks
