General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
You have been scratched/bitten by cat 3 years back without any symptoms these days.
The incubation period of Tetanus is 3-14 days so the risk zone with the cat scratching referred in the questions already over. You don't need TT vaccination for that incidence.
Rabies can be seen in stray cats. It is transmitted only when saliva of an infected animal comes in contact of victim's blood. Though it's incubation period varies a lot it can be from 9 days to several years as you don't have any blood oozing out of the injury. You are safe & no need of Rabies vaccine too.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
