Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I got vaccinated last June and completed my 5 shots vaccination regime but without RIG. I was scratched by my pet cat which was vaccinated. The scratch was deep and bleeding. Today I got scratched by a cat which came to my place and the scratches are deep and bleeding. I m not sure about the vaccination history of the cat. But my friend got it vaccinated a day ago but he not sure about the history too. Shall I get revaccinated or just tetanus would do? The attack was unprovoked but I was showing the cat around but when I was trying to bring it downstairs it scratched me, maybe because it got scared of the stairs. Otherwise it seems healthy and friendly

How Can A Cat Scratch Wound Be Treated?
Hi, Depending on the severity of the scratch, the cat may need to be identified and quarantined or tested for signs of disease, such as rabies. A round of rabies prophylaxis (antibody and vaccine injections) can be done as a preventative measure. You should also clean frequently the scratch and use an antibiotic ointment to treat the wound. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Regards, Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
