Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I was slightly nstung by a baby catfish. Small wound , drew blood. I forced it to bleed,, cleaned the wound but did not cover it. About 30 min later I felt off and started vomiting over the side of my boat. A bit later I felt better but sitll a bit off. I take heart meds and blood pressure meds. I still feel a bit off my game, should I see my Doctor at Kaiser or monitor the situation and go to emergency if this get worse? ?
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic. I can understand your concern. In my opinion, you can wait and watch for your symptoms. Cat fish bite is usually non toxic. Pain at bite area is common without any systemic effects. So you can wait without rushing to emergency. But if you develop worsening swelling or pain at bite area or excessive vomiting or high grade fever then immediately consult emergency room. Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
