Hello,

Treatment depends upon the cause for the collapse.
1. External compression leads to collapse: Seen in pleural effusion or pneumothorax, or trauma etcetera. Treated with surgical decompression.

2. If it is luminal: Seen in malignancy, or bronchiectasis, pneumonia, lung cancer, sarcoidosis etcetera. Treatment depends on the cause, please consult your doctor he will examine and treat the cause to recover from collapse.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu
