How Can A Cyst On The Back Below The Shoulder Be Treated?

Got a cist on the back below shoulder (comes back third time in the same spot after 2-3 years). After applying a warm/hot compress to the cist area, the skin has opened and pus is discharging for a couple of days practically without external pressure/squeezing . At this point I have little drainage but see a sizable nipple-looking bump/flash sticking above the skin surface. All septic measures were applied to avoid infection (sterile pads, antibiotic cream, peroxide wash etc.). Is it preferable for healing at this stage to keep wound open while at home environment or better to continue applying antibiotic cream and covering it with pads? Thank you in advance.
