Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, A street dog bit me yesterday, necessary emergency shots were administered. Today I was administered with another injection near the bitten area (leg). It s paining like anything. I am not able to walk. Is it normal? Should I continue the course? What should I do to get relief from the pain?
While these are not comfortables injections, not being able to walk is beyond what we would expect. It's possible that there is swelling, soft tissue infection, or a nerve was irritated by the injection. I recommend that you go back in to be seen and evaluated if you are not able to walk.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bonnie Berger-Durnbaugh, General & Family Physician
