How Can A Dog Bite Be Treated?

I was bitten by a street dog one year ago but I m not sure about that it s teath was injected in me or not and there was no blood came out no scratch ? But now I have a fear of rabies? What should I do.? How can I clear that if I m rabies infected or not.?

Hello,

Very likely you don't have rabies infection and you should not worry about this.

The reason for this is because you did not bleed or get a scratch from the attack and also it is now so long (a year) after the incident and you have not had any symptoms.

Rabies is generally treated if suspected and we don't wait for a diagnosis to treat it and there are criteria for this and a vaccine and Ig injections are done soon after the attack (first day and till day 21 several injections).

I would say you don't need to worry about this now, it is very unlikely for you to have rabies.
