How Can A Facial Red Mark Be Treated?

I have a red mark that is on my face that it looks it is under the skin. The mark started out small maybe an inche in length but has grown in length and is now a semi-circle around my cheekbone (Starts about 1.5 inche below my left eye, around the cheekbone and is near my throat). Could this be an in-grown hair? or even worst, a worm? Please help!

Hello and welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Red mark on face might be related to number of skin disorders like acne, folliculitis, allergic rashes, and sebaceous cyst. I would advise you to keep it clean and moisturised if you can provide me more information like your age, any history of insect bite, sun exposure or drug history so that I will be able to tell you more accurately.

If possible upload me a photograph. In my opinion you should book an appointment for dermatologist as per your convenience if it increases in size or itching and pain develops. Waiting for your reply.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. B R Hudda
