How Can A Fish Bone Stuck In The Throat Be Removed?

My six year old daughter swallowed a salmon fish bone (probably) during dinner this evening. The fish did have a few bones in it, which were fairly small. My daughter feels something in her throat when drinking water. We gave her some bread with peanut butter and had her drink more water to try to dislodge it, but she still feels something in her throat. She is calm and not all that bothered by it. She is breathing just fine. Do we need to take her to a doctor right away or is it OK to wait to see if it goes away on its own?

Hello,
Thank you for trusting HCM

Please be advised to take her to pediatrician/ ENT specialist as soon as possible.
Fishbone stuck in the throat can lead to infection. I can also get dislodged and cause complications. So it is safest to remove the fish bone as soon as possible.

Hope this answers your question
