Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My son just returned from hospital, has a broken clavicle (he is 40yr). Dr wants him to see ortho specialist, because it is broken in half, with one piece now laying on top of the other. Until he sees specialist, he is in a special splint/sling. Wondering what his options are going to be, how treatment will be.... thank you
Most of the clavicle fracture can be treated conservatively by braces. If the fracture fragments are displaced, surgical correction may be required. It is a simple surgery and nothing much to worry about.
Consult an orthopaedician and he will direct you accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
