How Can A Fractured Knee Be Tretaed?

I broke my right femur on the upper part right over my knee, this was in 2009.It is healed and I had a plate put in and then had it taken out when my femur was healed, as it hurt so much. I am having alot of pain in my right knee and upper leg. I as wondering could this be form scar tissue inside my leg, as I can feel like hard bumps in that are? Thank you.
