Hi there,

If you're still having pain 12 days later, and it's only getting better slowly, I'd be worried you'd fractured your wrist.

If you aren't going to go to a doctor and get an X-ray, then I'd recommend you keep your wrist in a splint at all times! That means even when you are sleeping at night. Immoblization is the key to healing bones. The problem is, without an x-ray it's hard to know how long you need to keep your wrist immobilized. I'd recommend at least 4 weeks and maybe longer until you are pain free.

I don't recommend treating yourself with a splint. I recommend getting an x-ray and a diagnosis, and then you can apply a splint yourself if need be to save some money. But at least you'll have a better idea of what is going on.

I hope I have answered your question. Please feel free to contact me if you have any further questions or if you feel I haven't adequately answered your question.
