How Can A Ganglion Cyst Be Removed From The Thumb?
I had a ganglion cyst aspirated this morning (rt thumb below cuticle). I would like to try aspirating same if it returns or I get another one....especially if it is large. It was obvious to me that it was fluid-filled. I tried to aspiratwe this one over the weekend but apparently did not go deep enough. I don t want to run to my PCP s office if I can safely address this problem. Needles do not bother me. Just not sure what to implement for aspirating the damn thing! I do realize infection is a risk so I ll be sure to use a sterile needle (or whatever).
Hi I will advice you to get it excised if its recurring. It can be removed under local anesthesia. Aspiration must be done by sterile instruments so I will not recommend you to do that at home. Hope my answer helps. Thank you for contacting HCM
