How Can A Hard Arm Abscess With Soreness Be Treated?

I am a recovering cocaine iv user. I had a relapse last week. Problem, I have a small absess on my left arm. It is not radiating much heat, a little sore but not horrible when I bend my arm. Please don t judge me, I am in recovery. Like I tell the doctors at the quick care before, don t judge please. I didn t wake up one day and decide to be addicted to something. It just happened but I am making a new healthy lifestyle for myself now. It s about a 1/2 inch long, I have been using warm compresses and lots of antibiotic cream. Wash my hands and do not touch it, clean the site quite often. It has been a week and it hasn t gotten bigger, which is good but the hardness hasn t softened. I did not share needles or use dirty ones, they were all clean and the site sterile before using. This is the results of a really bad cut substance and missing a couple times. Please help , I like to avoid doctors because of the judgement. Thank you.. I can send a picture if needed

General Surgeon 's  Response
hi.

it is best if you consult a doctor, preferably a general surgeon, for physical examination and clinical evaluation of your wound. no, doctors will not be there to judge you. they're there to help you. medical (proper antibiotic regimen) and surgical (incision and drainage of the abscess) are the definitive management for abscess formation. proper hygiene, daily wound care and avoidance of contaminants are also advised.

hope this helps.

good day!!
