How Can A Hard Lump Formed In The Achilles Tendon Be Treated?

I have a raised bump on my achilles heel which i think was started from a scab being there and it has been there for a long time and if i try and scrape it out it wont come out because theres a -ring around it thats connected to my skin. The top of it is a dark colour and it kind of feels like a bead with half of it in my skin and half of it out? If that makes sense

Hello,

It looks like Archilles tendinitis, you are suggested to use a heel lift, est your leg, take NSAIDS killers to relieve pain. Keep the leg elevated while sitting or standing. Apply pain relieving ointments & massage it gently. Physiotherapy is effective to relieve the pain and strengthen the tendon. Do stretch exercises under a PT. Ankle exercises, manual exercises, straight leg raises, calf stretch, plantar fascia stretch, stretch exercises are helpful. Get clinically examined & get investigations done. You may need a surgery.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
