How Can A Hard Ribcage Knot With Pain Be Treated?

I have a hard knot on my ribcage where the bone and cartilege connects the left side hurts more and that side is more visible than my right although i feel a pang of pain on my right every now and then...also the pain radiates around the rib to my armpit sometimes
