How Can A Hard Scrotum Area Lump Be Treated?

I had a hernia operation in the lower left hand side of my stomach down by my groin. I am on cumondin and a couple days after the surgery my balls and scrotum were swollen to the extremes and black up to my stomach. That was on the 5th. of Nov.2010. after the swelling went down I have a extra tennis ball size ball and it is very hard and sore. The doc. told me it would go away in a couple months well it is now going on 6 months and it is still there and very sore. I have to wear a protective harness to keep it from touching my legs and it is very sore. Is this normal and what can I do???

Hi,Dear,Thanks for your query to HCM.
Dear I read facts of your query and reviewed it in context to your query health issues.
I understood your health concerns and feel Concerned about them.

Based on the facts of your query, you seem to suffer from-
Resolving Hard-Post-Herniorrhapy-Penoscrotal hematoma.
You may take another 2-3 yrs for this hardness to go.

So just contact your operating surgeon and discuss these issues on the lines suggested herein above.

Other causes of IBS such as Secondary hydrocele/ Peri-testicular hematoma like ailments etc need to be ruled out with help from your family / and specialist doctors.

Treatment- suggested-

Anti-inflammatory NSAIDs medicines / Chymoral Tabs to resolve the hardness by trypsin enzyme actions/ Antibiotics - if need be / Rest in head low position / Good diet for early healing are needed in your case

Long term treatments as suggested above would recoup the penoscrotal resolving hematoma and accompanying scrotal hardness-problem in 2-3 yrs time, under expertise of UroSurgeon.

This would help you to recover of this problem for the time being.

Other causes need to be verified with your Surgeon and UroSurgeondoctor-likej Rectus sheath hematoma / post- operative cellulitis,as the facts which you submitted, may in actual be different than what you may really have after actual Uro- Surgeon Assessment.

For this Second opinion from General-Surgeon/ and Uro-Surgeon doctor and if need be with Specialist-Uro-Surgeon doctor, is needed who would do proper investigation after proper physical assessment to resolve your health issues.

For early recovery-please follow above do's which would resolve your issues.

Hope this would help you to treat your health issues in the best way possible.

Welcome for any further query in this regard.
Good Day!!
