How Can A Heavy Menstrual Cycle Be Treated?

I am having a huge menstrual cycle...to the point it has me scared...soaking pads. I would say like 8 a day....today is day 6 and yesterday i started taking ibuprofen in helps of controlling the bleeding...the bleeding is bad...some days i think i am going to bleed to death..I had this happen last may and had an ultrasound done and they found nothing and said this is normal for people when they get older but how much blood is to mucht o lose
