How Can A Hematoma On The Lower Leg Be Treated?

I have a hematoma on my lower leg,it is swollen about 2 inches in diameter, it happen two weeks ago, how long would it take the swelling to go down, I have my leg elevated when I sit and sleep, I have very little pain, the first day that I received it was twice the size, I put ice on it the first day and the swelling did go down, but it is the same size for the last two weeks

Hi,

The resorption of hematoma would take 4-8 weeks. You need to keep it clean & dry. Do not try to pick it open. Consult a doctor if pain increases or there is fever (a sign of infection) for a needful antibiotic.
