Hello, last month when I play football or soccer, my knee twisted and i hear a sound like broken leg, after that I went to home and put some ice on it, now I can walk easily but I cant run or bend my knee more than 90 , I went to two doctors, one of them said its your meniscus and you need surgery and your ACL is ok, and one them also said Your ACL is ok and go to Hydrotherapy and do Stationary bicycle in very slow speed for 3 week, Now I m very confused and need your help. thank you very much
Hi Thanks for posting on HCM The treatment of knee injury will depend on the extent of the damage if any. After a twisted knee as you describe, injury may involve the meniscus, ACL or may just be muscle strain.Physical examination may not reveal the damage. If pain persist and swelling increases, it may suggest a lesion to investigate.Normal X ray may only reveal fracture.I will suggest you take a MRI of knee which may show the various knee elements clearly and best and objective treatment options may be proposed. In the meantime, you may -continue with ice packs placement -Take pain/antiinflammatory drug like ibuprofen -Local pain gel like voltarene Hope this will help Best regards
