How Can A Large Bump Near The Incision Site Be Treated?

I had Fem/Fem bypass surgery 3 weeks ago. I have developed a large bump (4 x1 ) just under the skin a inch or two beneath the incision on my left leg. The Bump is hard. Surgeon says it is normal post surgical condition. I am concerned. What is it? YYYY@YYYY

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

As per your case history you are having hypertrophic scar, my treatment advice is -

1. Don't scratch the lesion as it may worsen the condition.
2. Apply a Scarend cream twice daily on it.
3. Take a vitamin E supplement once daily for 3 months.
