Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My Granddaughter had an MRI on 8/15/16, which was compared to an ultrasound on 7/22/16, due to a lump behind her ear which has continued to get larger. Mild lymphadenopathy was noted, without airway compromise, but soft tissue lesion in the superior anterior mediastinum mist likely residual thymic tisue. What should we expect now to find what course of action may be required?
for such lymphadenopathy clinical examination by surgeon is essential. blood analysis and aspiration cytology is more confirmative for diagnosis if it is inflammatory lymph gland then source of drainage is to be traced.treatment can be advised after proper diagnosis.
