How Can A Lump In The Anal Region Be Treated?

I have tightness and a lump near the left side of my anus. And I believe I have strep throat, with white bumps in my throat. I get strep at least one a year. Anyhow, any idea what the bump near my anus could be? It feels like half an egg under my skin. Doesn t hurt to poop, but hurts to cough

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Most probably it will be a perianal abscess. Consult a general surgeon and get evaluated.

An ultrasound scan is required to make a diagnosis. Once the diagnosis has confirmed, the treatment of choice will be drainage of pus. anribiotic cover is a must.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
