All the symptoms you have mentioned suggestive of
hematoma. It is nothing but a collection that develop under the skin following a
blunt trauma.
If the swelling and pain persist for long,an X-ray have to be taken to rule out minor
fracture or
contusion.
You can try the following as a first line management:-
(1)- Apply ice packs over the affected area. You can also try alternate warm and cold compresses.
(2)- You can take simple analgesics like
aceclofenac for pain.
(3)- Immobilize the affected limb for one week. You can suspend the arm in a brace.
(4)- Counter irritant creams can be applied for symptomatic relief.
If pain and swelling persist despite all these consult a general practitioner and get an X-ray done to rule out minor contusion.
