How Can A Lump On The Neck Be Treated?

My 19 year old daughter has a half inch in diameter lump that is under the skin on the right side of her neck. It does not cause her pain and it can be manipulated a few centimeters from side to side. She just noticed it today. She is freaking out and says I need to take her to an ER. Please advise.
