How Can A Nodule In The Left Thyroid Gland Be Treated?

I ve had a nodule in my left thyroid gland for several years that has grown over the past 2 years to 3.6 x 2.5 x 3.4 cm in size. I ve had it biopsied in the past and it was benign but we don t know why it is growing. The right lobe has several tiny nodules 5x5x5 and 8x7x5mm colloidal thyroid nodule and inferior lower lobe 4 x2 x3cm thyroid cyst. Im scheduled for biopsy and Dr. wants to take my thyroid out but it is working fine so I don t want to do that if it is benign.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Better to go for surgery because benign nodules may turn in to malignancy in the later life. Consult your surgeon and plan for surgery.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
