How Can A Painful And Itchy Rash On The Chest Be Treated?
I ve had a itchy patch of skin on my chest, near my neck, for months. It has become painful. At times it feels as if I m being repeatedly stung by a bee. Nothing I do seems to give me relief. (Ice, calamine, oatmeal paste, cortizone cream.) I can t get in to see a dermatologist until August. Any suggestions? It is irritated by heat. Otherwise I can t identify a cause or triggers. At this point the painful itching and stinging is pretty constant.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
It may be heat rash or dermatitis or psoriasis etc.
Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is.
Heat rash may not respond to steroid cream.
Also check for allergy to soaps and creams or deodorant etc.
Maintain good hygiene, use powder that prevents moisture.
Use air conditioning rooms.
Please consult your dermatologist he will examine and treat you accordingly.
