How Can A Painful Bump On The Shin Be Treated?

Hello! I hit my shin bone very hard on furniture about 1 year ago. Now, there is a still a small bony bump in that area. It hurts slightly when pressed on, and when I put pressure on that foot (such as stomping, jumping, etc.) I am also concerned as it does not look good cosmetically. Will this bump slowly subside over time? Or could I get the bone shaved down in the area?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

It can be a hematoma developed following the trauma. However, we have to rule out other conditions also. It is better to consult an orthopedician and get an MRI scan done.

Most cases it will resolve with time.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
